PSG member sacked for punching girlfriend
MANILA, Philippines - A member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) was relieved from his post yesterday for allegedly punching his girlfriend who wanted to break up with him.
PSG chief Brig. Gen. Ramon Mateo Dizon said Jober Babaran, 29, of the PSG’s explosive and ordnance division, was relieved by his company commander following the incident, which occurred on Malacañang grounds recently.
“He was relieved because of that incident since at all levels in this Command, we do not tolerate transgressions of regulations and discipline,†Dizon said.
Babaran has been charged with violation of the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Law with the Manila Regional Trial Court for inflicting injuries on Rose Marie Adalig.
He allegedly slapped Adalig in the face as she tried to break up with him after learning that he is married and have kids.
