GMA-7 exec files theft raps vs sales agent
MANILA, Philippines - A 34-year-old sales agent was charged with theft before a Quezon City court yesterday after he was accused of taking the wallet dropped by an executive producer of GMA-7 network at a supermarket in Cubao on Monday.
Ranil Caminade, who was charged before Regional Trial Court Branch 77 under the sala of Judge Germano Francisco Legaspi, posted P20,000 bail after he spent two days in a holding cell of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Cubao station.
Caminade is accused of taking the wallet, which contained P27,000, dropped by GMA-7 executive producer Merilea Cuartina-Llamoso.
In her sworn statement, Cuartina-Llamoso said she was shopping for appliances at a supermarket in Araneta Center at around 8 p.m. when she dropped her leather wallet. She said she realized it was missing when she was already at the parking lot.
When she came back at supermarket to search for the wallet, a promodizer told her that a man with blonde hair allegedly picked up her wallet and pocketed it. The supermarket’s security personnel managed to track down the man, who was later identified as Caminade.
Security personnel frisked the suspect but failed to find the wallet. He denied the allegations filed against him. His arraignment was set on May 21.
