Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Makati City police have launched a manhunt for the driver of a gray Honda Civic that hit a motorcycle along J.P. Rizal street early Monday, killing a 19-year-old man and his 14-year-old passenger.

Witnesses failed to jot down the license plate of the Honda as it sped away toward Manila at past 3 a.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Mardy Domingo said.

Roberto Hernandez, 19; and Janmike Oroyo, 14, died at the Sta. Ana Hospital.

Police said the victims were not wearing helmets when they were thrown from the motorcycle.

The driver of the Honda faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and abandonment of one’s victims.
