6 hurt by falling debris from Pasig hotel

MANILA, Philippines - Three bank employees and three others were hit by falling debris from a hotel in Pasig City yesterday.

Bank employees Pauline Gaen, Michelle Fulgencio and Irene May Ampoon as well as Kenneth Gaen, Edward Bauzon and May Kristine Bauzon sustained minor injuries. They were rushed to the Medical City for treatment.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza said those injured were walking at the corner of ADB and Opal Roads in Ortigas Center in Barangay San Antonio when the debris fell on them Wednesday night.

Police said the debris came from the 34th floor of the Malayan Plaza Hotel.

Rariza said they are still investigating the incident.
