Wife of Camanava’s most wanted faces drug raps
MANILA, Philippines - The pregnant wife of Camanava’s most wanted man will be charged with drug possession, police said yesterday.
Magdalena Ignacio will be slapped with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for possession of 16 sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, according to Chief Inspector Romeo Ricalde Jr., head of the Northern Police District’s special operation unit.
“We don’t know yet the exact weight of the confiscated shabu but I was told that it’s more than five grams, which means there is no bail,†Ricalde said.
Police said they discovered the illegal drugs following a brief shootout between Ignacio’s husband, Michael, and anti-narcotics officers last Tuesday morning.
Michael died from gunshot wounds in the chest and abdomen.
Policemen were supposed serve a warrant for Michael’s to arrest in Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City when the shootout occurred.
Police said Ignacio started peddling drugs after she married Michael in 2011.
