3 cops nabbed for drinking while in uniform

MANILA, Philippines - Three policemen were arrested in Manila Friday afternoon for allegedly holding a drinking session on the sidewalk while in full uniform and carrying firearms.

Police Officers 1 Wilson Samonte, 23; Jordan Alcova, 23; and Ryan Ricaplaza, 32, were accosted as they were drinking at the corner of San Jose and Lardizabal streets in Sampaloc, according to a report to Manila Police District officer-in-charge Senior Superintendent Robert Po.

All three policemen belong to the National Capital Region Police Office’s Regional Public Safety Battalion.

“Lawmen should serve as good example to the public and acts like these should not be tolerated,” Po said.

In November 2012, Samonte and his friend, a security guard, were arrested after they allegedly ran amuck in a bar in Quezon City.
