Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A fire razed a four-story commercial-residential building in Pasay City before dawn yesterday.

The fire started from a storeroom at the back of the building, located at the corner of Protacio street and Taft Avenue, at around 5 a.m. The city fire department identified the building’s owner as Antonio Tan.

Two volunteer firefighters, Carlo Deguero and Leoniel Ramson, were injured. Deguerro suffered cuts on his hand after glass panes fell on him while Ramson sustained second-degree burns on his hands.

The fire destroyed at least P2.1 million in property before it was put out at past 11 a.m. Arson investigators have yet to determine what caused the fire.
