UP road safety research lab gets upgrade

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila North Tollways Corp., chaired by businessman Manny Pangilinan, has funded the renovation and upgrade of the Road Safety Research Laboratory of the University of the Philippines (UP) worth a total of P1.89 million.

Pangilinan also turned over yesterday to UP officials three handheld global positioning system devices, a LIDAR speed gun, and personal computers with transportation research software.

Lab chief Ricardo Sigua said the upgrade would boost road safety research and would extend the center’s training and extension activities.
