Manhunt on for teen who robbed tourist

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Police District (MPD) has launched a manhunt for a teenager who allegedly robbed an American tourist in Ermita, Manila Monday morning.

Alys Moshier, 29, a procurement specialist from Washington, told MPD General Assignment Section investigators that she was crossing A. Mabini street when a man who was sitting on the corner followed her and snatched her necklace.

Moshier said she tried to chase the man but failed to catch him. A passerby helped her and took her to the MPD Station 5, where she was able to identify her attacker as Christopher Orpiada, 18.

Investigators said Orpiada has been in and out of jail for various offenses, most of them for robbery.
