Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A convent in Barangay Immaculate Conception, Quezon City lost more than P300,000 in payroll money to armed robbers yesterday afternoon.

Initial police reports state that at least three armed men barged into the convent of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit along Poinsettia Road at around 3 p.m., right after an armored van delivered the payroll money. The robbers went to the convent’s office just as three convent employees were counting the money.

The robbers took the money at gunpoint and fled out of the open gate. They also took P1,500 from an employee as well as three mobile phones and $1,000 and 200 euros from the office.
