Man jumps to death from Makati condo

MANILA, Philippines - A still unidentified man allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the 29th floor of a condominium in Makati City Monday night.

Police officers described the man to be around 40 and clad in brown pants, a long-sleeved shirt and black leather sandals. They said he did not have any identification papers with him.

The man reportedly leapt from the 29th floor of the Asian Mansion Condominium at the corner of Dela Rosa and Nieva streets at around 10 p.m.

The man fell onto high-tension electric wires. The contact severed the man’s right hand and caused a power interruption at the condominium, police said.

According to investigators, an event was being held at the condominium’s 29th floor, which was also the building’s penthouse floor.

Police are still looking into the possibility of foul play in the incident.
