Woman stabbed 15 times in hostage drama

MANILA, Philippines - A drunk man stabbed 15 times her aunt in a hostage drama in Marikina City Tuesday night.

Gina Villoan, 35, of J.P. Rizal street, Barangay Calumpang, was listed in critical condition at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.

Naarel Buena, 24, held Villoan hostage after the latter tried to intervene in his quarrel with his live-in partner.

Buena surrendered to the police but not after holding hostage Villoan’s seven-year-old son, another aunt, his live-in partner, Christine, 25, and their nine-month-old child.

Although wounded, Villoan managed to get out of the house and sought the help of neighbors who rushed her to the hospital.

Buena surrendered to the police after an hour of negotiation.

Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel said charges will be slapped against Buena who was detained at the Marikina City police jail.
