Europe-bound passenger creates scene at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines - A Europe-bound passenger made a scene at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Tuesday night when he drank a bottle of rum that he intended to bring with him on his flight.

The unidentified foreigner arrived at the airport for his 8 p.m. flight when baggage X-ray operators at the final security check-in detected a bottle inside his backpack.

Airport personnel asked the passenger to deposit the bottle of liquor in a container where prohibited items were placed.

Instead, he sat beside the container, and drank the rum, which he mixed with soda and water.

An airline employee saw the passenger drinking and asked a female police officer to tell him to board his flight.

The policewoman then informed the foreigner that drinking is not allowed at the airport.

Before putting the bottle in the container, the foreigner took another shot of the rum. Airline employees escorted him to his flight.
