MANILA, Philippines - A man was killed and an 11-month-old girl was wounded in an attack by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Quezon City Monday night.
Senior Police Officer 1 Randy Bantillo said three men on a motorcycle repeatedly shot Conrado Ongjoco, 59, at past 8 p.m. in Barangay Commonwealth. Ongjoco died on the spot.
As the attackers fled, one of them shot at Manolito Salvatierra, his live-in-partner Jocelyn Rollan, and their 11-month-old daughter Michaela while they were in front of a store.
The bullet hit the baby in the left shoulder and her parents brought her to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Superintendent Ramon Pranada, commander of Quezon City Police District Station 6, said residents told investigators Ongjoco’s family was reportedly locked in a land dispute with relatives.
