MANILA, Philippines - A 65-year-old woman was stabbed by a still unidentified man who broke into her house in Barangay 92, Caloocan City at past midnight Friday.
Salvacion Lam was brought to a hospital for treatment after she was stabbed three times in the back by her attacker, according to Chief Inspector Crisencio Galvez.
Lam woke up when she sensed someone was in her bedroom. She tried to shout to call the attention of her 83-year-old mother-in-law, but the man choked her, Galvez said.
The attacker fled from the house immediately after stabbing Lam, Galvez said, noting that the man removed Lam’s air conditioner and used the hole to enter and leave Lam’s house.
Police are looking into possible motives, including burglary, as the reason for the break-in.
