Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Eight persons, including a Filipino-British woman, were arrested by local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives during a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taguig City Monday afternoon.

Joana Paula Tinga, Philip Crespo, Ester Minorete, Eileen Adeza, Luisito Mabilog, Crayon Sheafer Ong, Henry Tinga and Filipino-Briton Aurora Rochay Moynihan were apprehended at a three-story house on P. Burgos street at about 4 p.m., city police chief Senior Superintendent Arturo Asis said.

He said the raid was conducted after the city police and the PDEA received a tip on the suspects’ alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.

The law enforcers said they seized P15,000 in marked money, five grams of suspected shabu, marijuana, ecstasy tablets and various drug paraphernalia from the suspects.

Asis said the suspects have been charged with violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
