MANILA, Philippines - A man, his wife and their nine-year-old son were shot dead in their house in Taguig City Wednesday night in what police said could be related to illegal drug activities.
Taguig City police chief Senior Superintendent Arturo Asis identified the victims as Naya Daud, 40; her husband, Bensar Daud, 34; and their son, Bany Daud.
Initial police reports said the victims were shot dead at about 9:45 p.m. in their house along San Juan street in Barangay Central Bicutan.
Asis said the victims’ relatives prevented police officers from entering the house and examining the bodies.
“They took the bodies to the mosque immediately and had them prepared for burial in keeping with Muslim tradition. They also executed an affidavit of disinterest in pursuing the case,†Asis said.
Asis said no slugs were recovered from the scene although there were some drug paraphernalia found outside the house.
“Although the relatives of the victims are no longer interested in pursuing the case and there were no complainants, we will still continue with the investigation,†Asis said.
