Ex-con slain near Quiapo Church

MANILA, Philippines - A convicted robber, recently released from prison, was shot dead near the Quiapo Church yesterday morning.

Dionivic Lagrimas, 25, was attending to cars parked along Quezon Boulevard when a motorcycle-riding man stopped in front of him and shot him repeatedly at around 10 a.m., Senior Police Officer 2 Jonathan Bautista said.

He said Lagrimas’ relatives went to the Manila Police District’s homicide section and signed a form waiving their right to an investigation. He said the victim’s relatives just wanted to give Lagrimas a decent burial.
