Man found stabbed in U-Belt

MANILA, Philippines - An unidentified man was found lying on the pavement along Lerma street in Manila’s University Belt area yesterday morning.

Police said the man was seen gasping for breath in front of the Em-B Food House at past 5 a.m., just as students were going to school. The victim, described to be between 40 and 45, was clad in orange short pants and a black shirt, Senior Police Officer 1 Charles John Duran said.

Vendor Dolores Baldo, 42, asked a pedicab driver to rush the man to the nearest hospital, but the victim died on the way.

Investigators said the victim’s intestines protruded through his wound. The body was brought to the Cruz Funeral Homes for safekeeping and autopsy.
