NCRPO nabs 157 gun ban violators
MANILA, Philippines - The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has arrested 157 gun ban violators and confiscated 183 firearms in Metro Manila since the start of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) ban last Jan. 13.
There are 1,134 checkpoints in the metropolis, according to NCRPO chief Director Leonardo Espina.
He said these checkpoints are manned by 9,429 NCRPO personnel.
Espina said the Manila Police District (MPD) has the most number of checkpoints with 300, followed by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) with 258.
The Southern Police District (SPD) has 238, and the Northern and Eastern Police Districts with 175 and 163, respectively.
