Former drug pusher shot dead in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged former marijuana dealer was shot dead in front of his partner by two unidentified men in San Agustin, Malabon City Friday, police said yesterday.

Rodrigo Clemente, 21, and his partner, Margerie Gavino, 20, were in front of their house when they were attacked at around 4:30 p.m., Senior Police Officer 3 Ferdinand Espiritu said.

One of the men shot Clemente in the head at close range. The other gunman shot at Clemente but hit Gavino in the left arm instead, Espiritu said. The attackers immediately fled from the scene.

Gavino told police her partner used to sell marijuana, but stopped when they started living together.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the killing. The gunmen have yet to be identified.
