MANILA, Philippines - A Korean tourist was arrested yesterday after he allegedly ran amuck at a casino run by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) in Ermita, Manila.
Lee Nam Soo, 42, was nabbed for beating up Ray John Dungo, 22, a security staff of the Hyatt Hotel.
Dungo filed charges of physical injury and malicious mischief against Lee, according to Police Officer 3 Adonis Aguila of the Manila Police District (MPD)- General Assignment Section.
Reports said that the Korean even engaged in a shouting match with the wife of Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David.
David, however, clarified that his wife denied shouting at Soo and his fellow Korean.
David said his wife interfered in the commotion being the assistant security chief of the Pagcor-run casino.
David’s wife has been working at the casino for 25 years.
Lawyer Grace Lara, chief of staff of David, explained that David’s wife was on duty when the two Korean nationals reportedly became unruly.
“It was Mrs. David who asked assistance from a law enforcement agency, if I am not mistaken the Philippine National Police (PNP) after the Korean created trouble,†Lara said.
Meanwhile, another Korean was nabbed by the police for allegedly beating up his 23-year-old Filipina girlfriend in Manila Tuesday night.
April Pacdao went to MPD Station 5 to file a complaint against Kim Byung Yuk.
Pacdao was beaten black and blue. The suspect allegedly locked her up in his condominium unit in Manila.
