Tanod slain by brod-in-law in Manila

Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo -

MANILA, Philippines - A barangay tanod was shot dead, allegedly by his brother-in-law, in Sta. Cruz, Manila Saturday morning.

Barangay 313 Zone 31 watchman Elmer Dayon-dayon, 44, was walking around his neighborhood, his son in his arms, when Reginald Larios, 43, reportedly approached him from behind and shot him four times at around 11 a.m. Saturday, according to Senior Police Officer 2 Benito Cabatbat.

Cabatbat said Dayon-dayon would always create trouble whenever he was drunk.

The night before the shooting, Dayon-dayon had been drinking and, armed with a bolo, hacked the door of Larios’ house, Cabatbat said.

Larios, who is also a barangay watchman, fled and is the subject of a manhunt, according to Cabatbat.
