MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group has conferred an award on an official of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) during the celebration of the CIDG’s 60th anniversary on Jan. 7.

Accoring to a statement, Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Jonathan Lledo, who leads the National Inter-Agency Task Force Against Trafficking, was given a plaque of recognition by PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima and CIDG head Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr. in a ceremony at Camp Crame.

The NIATFAT and CIDG have been working together for several years, staging joint operations to arrest members of child trafficking syndicates and shut down establishments used as fronts for prostitution, officials said.

Justice Undersecretary Jose Vicente Salazar, who heads IACAT, acknowledged NIATFAT’s achievements under Lledo’s stewardship.
