MANILA, Philippines - The operation of the Light Railway Transit Line 2 was stalled after a power transformer near the LRT depot burned out before dawn yesterday.
LRT Authority spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said the transformer at the depot “burned down†at around 1 a.m., and the electric supply had to be cut off. The trains could not leave the Santolan station because of the power outage, he said.
The power supply was restored at about 7:30 a.m. The LRT 2 operations returned to normal an hour later.
