Woman stabs teen, foils rape try

MANILA, Philippines - A teenager was arrested in Quezon City after he reportedly attempted to rob and rape his neighbor, who managed to stab him with his own knife.

Jayson Cabubuy, 18, was arrested before dawn Monday based on the complaint of a 25-year-old pharmacy assistant in Barangay Bagong Silangan.

According to a report from the Quezon City Police District Station 6, the woman was sound asleep in her room when Cabubuy allegedly broke into her house and went up to her room on the second floor at past 1 a.m.

The victim woke up as the suspect grabbed the woman’s cell phone.

The woman told police Cabubuy pulled out a knife and told her to spread her legs but she was quick enough to grab the knife and stab him in the back as they struggled.

The woman ran out of the house and sought help from police officers on patrol, who arrested the teenager, the police report stated.
