Man kills self over delayed salary?

MANILA, Philippines - A man allegedly hanged himself yesterday morning after he quarreled with his wife when he was not able to get his salary before the weekend.

Renato Luna, 35, was found hanging from a nylon cord tied to the door of their shanty in Tondo, Manila before 8 a.m., police said.

Catherine, 26, told police she and her husband argued the night before because her husband was allegedly told by his employer that he would get his salary today.

Police Officer 3 Amelito Lopez said an investigation is still being conducted to determine if there was foul play.
