Pete Laude - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Caloocan City police has launched a manhunt for a helper suspected of killing his employer, who owns a catering service business, Thursday night.

Edgardo Sumagaysay, 43, a resident of Barangay 164, was found dead in his house at around 10 a.m. Friday. Investigators said he was repeatedly stabbed and several of his belongings were missing.

Chief Inspector Rodrigo Soriano, city police investigation chief, said Sumagaysay’s new helper, identified only as Jeffrey, was reportedly the last person seen with the victim Thursday night.

Police recovered at the crime scene a bloodstained shirt, reportedly owned by the helper, and a broken knife covered with blood.
