Informant slain in Paco

MANILA, Philippines - A man who allegedly informed police about a reported drug pusher in his neighborhood was shot dead in his house in Paco, Manila Thursday afternoon.

Michael Flores, 38, an alleged member of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik jailhouse gang, was reportedly shot by his neighbor, Richard Burgos. 

Rowena Patalita, 36, Flores’ partner, said Burgos came at around 5 p.m. and was looking for the victim. She did not see the shooting but saw Burgos leaving their house in haste and fleeing in a gray Mitsubishi Lancer, Senior Police Officer 1 Alonzo Layugan said.

Layugan said Burgos was mad at Flores for telling the police about his father-in-law, who was arrested a couple of weeks ago.
