PNP revamp: 5 police officials get key posts
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima yesterday implemented the second phase of a reshuffle in the police force more than a week after he assumed the top PNP post.
Five sensitive positions in the PNP have been affected by the reorganization.
Designated to new positions are Catalino Uy, acting director for personnel and records management; Cipriano Querol Jr., acting director for intelligence; Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles, acting director for plans; Chief Superintendent Carmelo Valmoria, Special Action Force acting director; and Chief Superintendent Juanito Vano who was named Police Regional Office 9 acting director, replacing Estilles.
Earlier, Purisima appointed Director Ager Ontog as the new chief of the Directorial Staff or the No. 4 man in the PNP. Ontog’s position was held by Purisima prior to his appointment as PNP chief.
Purisima, meanwhile, assured police commanders that the PNP leadership will recognize and reward every good performance.
“Those who will support positive change toward genuine police service shall be amply rewarded,” Purisima told PNP senior officers during a simple ceremony at the PNP headquarters at Camp Crame.
