Rob suspect killed in shootout
MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) killed an alleged robber in a shootout in Sampaloc district yesterday morning.
Police have yet to identify the slain suspect, described as between 40 to 45 years old, about 5’4” tall, and sporting “Tojot” and “Real” tattoos in his abdomen.
Senior Police Officer 2 Glenzor Vallejo said members of the MPD Station 4’s anti-crime unit led by SPO3 Rogelio Abellera spotted two suspicious-looking men riding on motorcycle along Algeciras street and tried to flag them down.
Instead of stopping, the men sped off and started shooting at the police officers.
Policemen returned fire, hitting the backrider in the head, chest and forehead. His cohort escaped on foot, leaving behind the motorcycle. Police recovered a .38 caliber revolver and a belt bag containing knife and 1,000 Rupiah from the slain suspect.
