MANILA, Philippines - A policeman and a retired police official, who both own FX taxis, filed charges against each other following an altercation over passengers at a transport terminal in Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City Monday.
Police Officer 1 Eliseo Santos, 37, filed four counts of grave threats against retired Senior Inspector Pedro Zalun, 62; barkers Reynaldo Minsurado, 33, and Ferdinand Tabo, 23; and dispatcher Diomedes Conrado, 29.
Zalun and the three men also filed grave threats charges against Santos.
The inquest fiscal recommended a preliminary investigation of the men’s charges against each other.
Santos said the barkers and the dispatcher reportedly tried to attack him after telling him he could no longer pick up passengers at the terminal at the corner of EDSA and Panay Avenue, supposedly on Zalun’s orders.
Zalun and the three men accused Santos of threatening them with a gun before leaving in his FX taxi. He said he called up Patrol 117 for assistance. Police officers caught up with Santos at the corner of Panay Avenue and Sgt. Esguerra street.
The Quezon City Police District Station 10 brought all those involved to the station for investigation.
