Couple killed in motorcycle mishap

MANILA, Philippines - A couple on a motorcycle died Saturday night after they were run over by a tanker truck in Quezon City.

Moises Caneba and his wife, Leonida, both 48, were cruising along Elliptical Road when they were hit by the right rear tire of the truck, driven by Teudy Gallaza, in front of the Philippine Coconut Authority building, Police Officer 1 Perlito Datu said.

The victims were rushed to the nearby Malvar Hospital but were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Gallaza is in the custody of the Quezon City Police District’s Traffic Enforcement Unit and may be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, Datu said.
