Man kills sister, injures another

MANILA, Philippines - A 26-year-old man stabbed dead his older sister and injured another relative at home in Pandacan, Manila yesterday.

Jorge Vistal, 39, is being sought by police for the killing of his sister identified as Efrenita Vistal Balatero, 53, who succumbed to multiple stab wounds at the Ospital ng Maynila.

Marifiel Lopeno, 26, live-in partner of Balatero’s son, survived the stabbing incident, which occurred at 6:30 a.m. inside their home at 2343 BMC Tower-2, Osmeña Highway in Pandacan, according to Police Officer 3 Amelito Lopez.

Lopez said the suspect arrived home reeking with liquor.

Apparently depressed because of his separation from his wife, Vistal took an ice pick and repeatedly stabbed his sister and Lopeno.
