FEU mourns slain students
MANILA, Philippines - The Far Eastern University (FEU) said yesterday its community mourns the death of two of three students who were shot in front of the school campus Tuesday night.
“We share the bereavement of the families of Gerald (Ramos) and Juan Paulo (Nepomuceno),” the FEU said in a statement. The Manila Police District is eyeing a fraternity war as the motive for the attack.
Another victim, Adrian Joseph Santiago, 17, was taken to the Mary Chiles Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound in the back.
The victims were reportedly members of the university’s cheering squad, but police said Santiago told them he did not personally know Ramos, 21, and Nepomuceno, 17.
