MANILA, Philippines - A man was shot dead while two others were wounded in what police initially called a gang war in Caloocan City Monday night.
Marvin Gamotia, 35, died of a gunshot wound in the head while Marvin Maraga, 28, and Erwin Rodano, 16, were taken to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center for gunshot wounds in the left thigh and palm, respectively, police said.
Senior Police Officer 2 Joselito Barredo Jr. said Gamotia and Maraga were talking at a covered court when their attackers shot them at around 11 p.m.
Rodano, who was asleep in a friend’s house near the covered court, was hit by a stray bullet.
The gunmen remain identified, police said.
