Woman who jumped to death identified

MANILA, Philippines - Investigators from the Manila Police District (MPD) have identified the woman who jumped to her death from the seventh floor of the Grand Towers Manila condominium in Malate Thursday afternoon.

MPD homicide section head Chief Inspector Joey de Ocampo identified the woman as April Dianne de Lacura, a student of an exclusive school along Taft Avenue in Manila. He said the victim’s family asked him to keep other details confidential.

De Lacura was clad in maroon short pants, a shirt with the logo of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB) Institute of Human Nutrition and Food and a gray jacket when she jumped to her death at around 4 p.m.

According to a source, the victim was a former UPLB student and transferred this semester to the exclusive school. He said the reason for the suicide was depression, but he did not elaborate.
