Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Police have filed charges against a 26-year-old man for the death of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) inside a Quezon City hotel last month.

Dandel Ramiscal, who remains at large, has been charged with robbery with homicide before the prosecutor’s office, according to Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Mario dela Vega.

Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, head of the QCPD criminal investigation and detection unit, said Ramiscal was tagged as the suspect in the killing of Jovylene Calma, 30, inside Spring Hotel in Barangay Kaunlaran.

Marcelo said that Ramiscal and Calma were seen on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera entering the hotel at 9 a.m. of Oct. 27.

At 6 p.m., a room boy discovered the victim already dead while Ramiscal was nowhere to be found.

Police investigators said the suspect strangled the victim.
