Frat brod testifies vs Revilla slay suspect
MANILA, Philippines - A fraternity brother of an accused middleman in the Ram Revilla slay case yesterday took the witness stand and pinned down his “brod” as the person who recruited the gunman to kill the actor.
Sheridan Embat said accused Ryan Pastera approached him on his birthday party on Sept. 26, 2011 and asked if he knew any gun-for-hire.
Embat said Pastera, his “close friend” of three years, did not divulge the name of the target but said someone “ordered” the person killed.
“I asked why. He said the person displayed bad behavior, beating people up when he is drunk,” Embat said.
Embat said he gave the number of accused gunman Roy Francis “Kiko” Tolisora, who was also his friend. Embat said Tolisora told him before “that it was his job.”
On Oct. 2, 2011, at about 7:30 p.m., Embat said Pastera went to his house in BF Homes and asked him if they could meet Tolisora. Embat, who was recuperating from a motorcycle accident, hesitated at first but eventually agreed.
On their way to the meeting place, a fastfood chain along Kabihasnan Road, Embat said Pastera told him the target was a son of Ramon Revilla Sr., that his siblings wanted him killed, and were willing to pay P800,000 to P1 million for the hit.
Pastera “also told me he will give me P200,000. But I just listened to him,” Embat added.
