MANILA, Philippines - A Quezon City policeman was arrested for allegedly beating up and poking a gun at a passerby he accused of throwing stones at his house in Caloocan City Saturday night.

Senior Superintendent Rimas Calixto, Caloocan City police chief, said Senior Inspector Jun Fortunato, assigned at the Talipapa police station in Quezon City, chanced upon delivery boy Francisco Lagahit, 18, and accused him of stoning his house. Fortunato allegedly punched Lagahit and threatened to shoot him.

Barangay watchmen intervened and asked help from the local police station. Senior Police Officer 1 Jerry Ramos and his team arrested Fortunato and confiscated his weapons – a .45 caliber pistol and an Armalite rifle.

SPO2 Raymond Hernandez said the two later agreed not to pursue charges against each other.
