MANILA, Philippines - The operator and maintenance provider of the South Luzon Expressway said yesterday they were all set for the temporary closure of the SLEX’s northbound lanes from Susana Heights to South Green Heights starting tonight.
The SLEX segment was closed due to construction work by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for its Bilibid Overpass project, according to Manila Toll Expressway Systems, Inc. (MATES).
Vehicular counterflow traffic will be implemented on the 1.4-kilometer South Green Heights-Susana Heights portion by opening the inner lane of the southbound direction from 11:30 p.m. tonight until 4 a.m. tomorrow.
The toll operator said that the same activity will be undertaken again from 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 to 4 a.m. the following day on the southbound lanes in the same segment.
Vehicular counterflow traffic will also be implemented on the portion by opening the inner lane of the northbound direction on Nov. 22 and 23.
Traffic and safety signages will be installed and traffic enforcers will be deployed at the approaches and along the work area to guide motorists, direct and control traffic and attend to any contingency.
MATES officials apologized for any inconvenience the construction may cause. They said motorists may call the SLEX hotline 0917-OUR-SLEX (687-7539) to request for assistance or report any unusual incident.
