Jerry Botial - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A principal of a public school in Malabon City called on authorities to address the allegedly rampant thefts and robberies just outside the school’s gates.

Marilou Albaez, principal of the Imelda Elementary School in Barangay Longos, said she issued the call following the latest incident. Teacher Jarrelyn Blancaflor, 37, lost her bag to motorcycle-riding men as she was walking home from work at around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Albaez said the school is near the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Northern Field Office and the Northern Police District headquarters.
