MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will open a children’s park in Manila to teach children about road safety.
MMDA Assistant General Manager Emerson Carlos said yesterday the 1,200-square meter park will be called the Children’s Road Safety Miniature Park.
This is located at the corner of Adriatico street and Quirino Avenue in front of the Manila Zoo and would feature miniature road signs, pedestrian lanes, and footbridges, among others.
“We will formally open the miniature children’s park on Nov. 15,” Carlos said in the agency’s weekly radio program, aired over dzBB.
MMDA Traffic Engineering Center Director Noemi Recio said children can enjoy going to the park, even if it is without the usual attractions.
“Tour guides” from the MMDA will also usher visitors and teach them about road safety.
