Gina Lopez figures in bike accident

MANILA, Philippines - Environmentalist Gina Lopez was brought to a hospital Saturday night after figuring in a bike accident in La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City.

Superintendent Virgilio Fabian, Quezon City Police District Station 10 commander, said Lopez was biking along a trail in the park at around 5:30 p.m. when she lost her balance on one of the slopes.

Fabian said Lopez, who was immediately rushed to the Far Eastern University hospital, did not suffer any injury but underwent a CT scan procedure. He said there was a request to transfer Lopez to St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Lopez is ABS-CBN Foundation’s managing director and head of the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission.

In a text message, the ABS-CBN Foundation told The STAR that Lopez “is okay” and was released from the hospital yesterday.
