MANILA, Philippines - A marketing officer reported to police yesterday that his iPhone 4S was stolen as he was overseeing his firm’s exhibit at a mall in Monumento, Caloocan City yesterday.
Victor Miramonte, who works for a firm dealing in imported appliances, told police it took only about five minutes from the time he put his phone in his trouser pocket till he noticed it was missing.
He said he talked to a client on his cell phone at the mall entrance, then put his phone in his pocket. As he went up the second floor to have lunch, he noticed that his phone was already missing.
“The place was not so crowded and I remembered there was somebody beside me as I took the escalator but did not suspect anything untoward,” he said.
He said he told the mall’s security personnel, who said the surveillance cameras failed to function. He said he will not sue the mall owners, but advised customers to be careful.
