2 men nabbed for robbing cabbie

MANILA, Philippines - Two men were arrested at past midnight yesterday for allegedly robbing and shooting a taxi driver in Barangay Gulod, Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.

Antonio Feliciano and Noel Nirado boarded the taxi driven by Joel Mendoza along EDSA in Balintawak then robbed the victim of P3,000 and shot him in the nape when they reached the intersection of Villareal and Luisito streets, according to Quezon City Police District Station 4 commander Superintendent Crisostomo Mendoza.

A police team saw the victim and brought him to the Quezon City General Hospital while another team arrested the fleeing suspects.

Mendoza said police officers recovered the victim’s empty wallet, the taxi’s key, a bladed weapon, and different identification and ATM cards believed to have been stolen from past victims from the suspects.
