Maid caught on CCTV dragging ex-employer

MANILA, Philippines - A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera caught a housemaid dragging her 81-year-old former employer into a room where she was found bloodied and her niece dead in Mandaluyong City Tuesday.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Armando Bolalin, however, said that the CCTV did not catch Oranesa Bogcalao stabbing Milagros Viray and her niece, Solina Viray, 52.

Bolalin said they are eyeing robbery as the motive behind the attack on the Virays as Bogcalao was seen on the video footage holding a plastic bag while leaving the three-story house of the victims.

“It could be possible that she (Bogcalao) took with her the knife she used in stabbing the victims,” Bolalin said in an interview.

The elder Viray is recuperating at the Victor Potenciano Medical Center where she was rushed for treatment of multiple stab wounds in the body. She pointed to Bogcalao as their attacker.

Bolalin said they have launched a massive manhunt for the suspect.
