MANILA, Philippines - A 27-year-old vendor landed in jail after stabbing his older brother over a missing glue yesterday in Valenzuela City.
Chief Inspector Noel Ramirez of the Valenzuela police station investigation unit said that Jonathan Santiago was charged with frustrated homicide before the city prosecutor’s office.
Santiago’s brother, John Sherwin, 31, sustained two stab wounds in the abdomen and was taken to the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) for treatment.
SPO2 Armando Delima, homicide section chief, said the incident started at 6:30 a.m. when the siblings’ father asked for an adhesive.
The victim told his father that Jonathan was the last one who used the glue, but the latter denied this.
An argument ensued between the brothers until their mother sided with Jonathan.
Irked, John Sherwin punched Jonathan, who then went to the kitchen and took a knife. The suspect lunged at the victim, hitting him twice in the stomach.
