Man finds stolen motorbike on shopping website

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The owner of a motorcycle stolen last May in Pasig City found it on sale for P40,000 at an online shopping website.

Salvador Nitura Jr., 27, immediately told the Pasig City police to have the seller, Bermel Montalbo, 24, a desktop support engineer, arrested during an entrapment near a Pasay mall at 10 a.m. yesterday.

SPO4 Gerardo Torres certified that Nitura owns the Yamaha Sniper motorcycle being sold by Montalbo based on the engine and chassis numbers.

Nitura said his motorcycle was stolen while it was parked in front of a computer shop in Barangay Sta. Lucia. He said he was browsing through www.ayosdito.ph when he saw his motorcycle being advertised.

Montalbo said he bought the motorcycle from another man. Police are readying appropriate charges against him.
