MANILA, Philippines - Police are investigating the cases of two women found dead in Quezon City Saturday.
Lending agent Cecilia Ofilas, 57, was found dead, with blood oozing from her nose, by her tenants at around 7 p.m. in her house in Barangay Batasan Hills, according to a report by the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit.
The cause of her death has yet to be determined but the victim sustained bruises on both hands, the report said. Ofilas allegedly received death threats from an Indian moneylender who was her former employer.
Meanwhile, police are looking for an unidentified man suspected of killing an unidentified woman in a hotel in Barangay Kaunlaran, also on Saturday. Based on the surveillance camera footage of the Spring Hotel, the man checked in at around 9:13 a.m., followed by the victim more than an hour later.
The body of the woman, believed to be between ages 25 and 30, was discovered by a roomboy who was directed to check on the guests at around 6:30 p.m. because it was their checkout time. The victim had ligature marks on her neck, police said. –
